Join us tomorrow at 10 or 1 for our chefs and cooks roundtable


As the next step of our labour shortage research funded by the Provincial Government’s Employment Program of BC, we are looking for professionals interested in getting together to generate solutions focused thinking around the shortage of chefs and cooks.


We have 3 spots left for the 10 am and 1 pm sessions. This is session is Vancouver focused – and will be held at our offices at 800 – 690 West Pender Street.


How do we make sure that restaurants, and kitchens in particular, become preferred employers when all sectors are desperate for workers?


We want to:

– Gather strategies and recommendations regarding employment in kitchens
– Discuss what benefits could help with recruitment and retention
– Review human resources policies, education and training opportunities

We have 2 sessions – each will accommodate 12 professionals. Tuesday October 31
– 10 am to 11:30 am

– 1 pm to 2:30 pm

Both sessions will be at the BCRFA offices, 600 – 890 West Pender.

Culinary tourism and restaurants are thriving – and yet staff shortages challenge operator efficiency and quality. With your creative solutions and input to the labour shortage, we will continue to advocate so that restaurants become preferred employers in this changing marketplace.
