BCGEU Job Action Shuts Down LDB Warehouses
This morning, the BCGEU has taken job action against all LDB warehouses and the LDB Head Office. As a result, there is currently no product movement through the distribution network.
At this time, the only available access to liquor products is via your designated LDB retail store, which remains open. We regret this disruption and will keep you informed of any further developments.

WorkSafe Gratuities Policy: Response and Next Steps

We recently requested that WorkSafeBC temporarily suspend its policy requiring gratuities to be included in the payroll calculations. WorkSafe's CEO has responded and declined our request.
We will now be writing to the Board Chair asking for reconsideration of this policy which is both damaging and out of step with industry realities. We are prepared to take this issue to the public, if necessary.

Labour Shortage Advocacy: Letters to Government Leaders

We have submitted letters to both Premier David Eby and Prime Minister Mark Carney urging urgent changes to the Temporary Foreign Workers Program to address the ongoing labour shortage in our sector.
Our partners at Global Public Affairs will follow up with both offices to advocate for immediate action.
